PILOT
RACHEL DARDEN
Well, hello. Welcome to my super secret PILOT Page. If you found your way here by accident (good on you!), this won't make much sense other than to say I have been working on accents/dialects to complete my Master's Degree (yay, me!). If you are on my committee, hello and welcome! This is a non-exhaustive aggregate of source material and dialect informants. Please don't judge the layout. Designing websites is tricky business (am I right, Jed?).

Heed/hood series. This allowed me to map the vowel sounds. The maps are found in the dossier, though the arrows of movement in diphthongs got wonky in email/platform exchange. Regardless, you can see how centralized my own vowels are (fairly common in American speech) and how much more space Geraldine uses. Even though the arrow is in the wrong place, you can see how much movement Geraldine has in her "hood" diphthong.

Geraldine, a native Northern Irish speaker.
Mammybanter utilizes lip rounding that I often observe in Norther Irish. This Posture really helps me find this dialect.
